SENIOR JUDGE JOHN SAUNDERS
13TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT, KANSAS

Judge John Saunders, formerly of the 13th Judicial District Court in Kansas, played a direct role in enabling parental alienation and violations of court-ordered parenting time. Judge Saunders issued an order requiring the mother of my children to comply with visitation for spring break and Easter, after finding her in contempt for denying parenting time on seven separate occasions. However, he gave her specific details to “purge” her contempt if she followed his order. When she failed to comply again, Judge Saunders never enforced his own purge/not-purge ruling, effectively excusing her contempt and furthering the alienation of my children from their father.
Additionally, when I filed a motion regarding a violent assault by the mother’s criminal boyfriend — an individual listed on Indiana’s Most Wanted — Judge Saunders denied my motion, despite the fact that the attack was caught on video, a police report was filed, and charges were brought in La Crosse, Kansas. His refusal to act in the face of documented evidence highlighted a disturbing pattern of judicial abuse, neglect, and failure to protect parental rights.
Since then, Judge Saunders has retired from the bench, but the damage caused by his decisions continues to impact my family. His conduct stands as a stark example of the judicial corruption and abuse of power that CourtAbuse.org was created to expose.
