AUDRA ASHER ATTORNEY
KANSAS COURT-APPOINTED
CHILD INVESTIGATOR

Audra Asher - Child Investigator Failed Miserably to Protect Children.
Audra Asher, a Kansas attorney, was appointed under K.S.A. § 23-3210 by the Rush County District Court to serve as a court-appointed child custody investigator. In this role, she acted under color of state law, a fact she admitted in her own filings, making her subject to constitutional standards and accountability under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 .
Despite this sworn obligation, documented evidence shows that Asher failed in nearly every statutory and constitutional duty expected of a child investigator:
-
Ignored verified abuse: She received photographs, medical records, and police reports showing burns, bruises, dental neglect, parasitic infections, and emotional trauma, but she failed to investigate or notify authorities .
-
Denied due process: She blocked the father’s access to her secure case portal, excluding him from reviewing reports and updates, a violation of parental due process rights recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court .
-
Fabricated findings: She falsely claimed to have reviewed “all 644” Our Family Wizard messages, when over 1,250 messages existed, many of which documented contempt of court and parental alienation .
-
Failed to contact critical witnesses: She ignored Texas CPS investigators, schoolteachers, and doctors who had direct knowledge of abuse and neglect .
-
Ex parte communication: Records show she engaged in private, off-record communication with a sitting judge, without counsel or the parent present, which constitutes improper ex parte conduct .
-
Retaliatory conduct: At a July 2024 hearing, while evidence of child abuse and paternity fraud was raised, Asher remained silent and offered no recommendations. Instead, she used the opportunity to demand an $803 payment—placing financial gain over child safety .
Her inaction and misrepresentations forced multiple federal civil rights lawsuits to be filed, each backed by exhibits, transcripts, and medical evidence .
Federal pleadings further document that:
-
Asher’s misconduct increased the danger to the children, qualifying under the “state-created danger” doctrine in the Tenth Circuit .
-
She retaliated against a parent exercising First Amendment rights by chilling protected speech and petitioning activity .
-
Her failures directly contributed to ongoing harm, including void custody orders, denial of a DNA test, and enforcement of child support without any adjudication of paternity.
Asher’s conduct has been cited in federal whistleblower-style complaints as emblematic of systemic court corruption, child welfare failures, and abuse of authority in Kansas family courts.
This biography is based entirely on federal filings, judicial notices, exhibits, and certified court records. It is not opinion, but a factual record of her failures as documented in open court. The consequences of her actions—and her refusal to act—are felt most by the children, who remain unprotected despite overwhelming evidence of abuse.
